Managing Roles, loadequips and macros just got a whole lot easier with recently released add-on, Roles, created by Zormus on Curse. This is especially awesome because 2.3 brought in the capability to have up to 20 roles per character which means even more options for PVE and PVP. So how does Roles make this awesome?…
I’m sure if you raid, you’ll know of or are currently using King Boss Mods. I can’t say enough good things about KBM (King Boss Mods), and as such it’s long overdue to get a feature spot on RiftScene’s Featured Addons.
If you are planning on raiding and you haven’t used KBM – I seriously suggest you check it out. For most people – they can install it, set and forget, and move on with their lives. However – for other people there’s tons of options to config in order to place things wherever you’d like, hide alerts you don’t need, and much much more.
What does KBM do so well?
- Enrage timers, spell timers, timers! It does timers very well. Unless you’re at the bleeding edge in Raiding, then KBM should have you covered in all things timers. You’ll know when the next hard hitting spell is, or wipe/stack/whatever mechanic.
- Phase Monitors – you’ll always know what phase you’re in and depending on mechanics and such, KBM is aware and will stop timing mechanics that are no longer relevant and start tracking the new ones relevant to the new phase.
Thorarin has updated KaruulAlert to version 1.36.0 and which will now properly work with 2.2’s Carnival of the Ascended update. One of the biggest changes that was made to KaruulAlert is the formatting for alerts when you export them. They will no longer be the long string of text (with a whole lot of semicolons). Instead the formatting is entirely simplified to show “KA” at the start to identify the string you’re importing followed by the name of the ability–the rest of the alert is compressed. Here’s an example of the much neater format:
KaruulAlert now requires Rift 2.2 to function. Completely moving over to the new API will be done over the next few versions, to be ready for Rift 2.4.
Revised the Import/Export functionality of KaruulAlert. This means that alerts and sets exported with this version cannot be read by older versions. For the time being, you will be able to import older alerts into this new version, but support will be dropped in the foreseeable future.
A simple addon that allows a user to create stat-weight sets and then compare current gear values to those of new drops. This addon will tell you if an item is in fact an upgrade and by how much. It’s as simple as tying a role to a stat-weight. By doing this the addon will save your current gear set along with stat-weights. This way when an item drops, the addon will do all the math based off of the theory crafting numbers you choose.…
RS: What’s your main character class and your favourite calling?
I play a cleric. In vanilla/chocolate, I played a tank, but with Storm Legion my guild was full of tanks so I went healer/DPS instead. My favourite soul right now would have to be Sentinel. So much utility packed into one soul. I really want to love the Defiler, but there never seems to be a place where it’s the best choice for what I’m doing.…
I am happy to announce the first initial release of RareNerd, an addon that will assist you with finding all the rares in Rift. This includes all of the new rares added with Storm Legion and full support for them. This is an updated and modified version of RareDar.
