Here is the North American post in from Elrar in detail:

What an awesome few days we’ve had in Telara – but we know we can do better getting you on the shards faster and enjoying the game. To that end we are rapidly preparing for the deployment of new North American servers, this will also mean a change to the way that all North American shards are configured. To our European players – please know we’re also working on preparing similar solutions if needed, please see Daglar’s post for details.

At 3:00PM all North American shards will be brought offline for this change, once the changes have been made this is how the new server structure will appear:

North American Server Cluster #1

  • Deepwood
  • Greybriar
  • Faeblight (Roleplay)
  • Seastone (PvP)
  • Hailol (NEW)

North American Server Cluster #2

  • Laethys (Oceanic)
  • Shatterbone
  • Threesprings
  • Wolfsbane
  • Necropolis (PvP!) (NEW)

You can see we’ve added two new shards, we’ll also likely test to see if we’re able to expand individual shard population caps without impacting performance.

With these changes we should have enough capacity to support our burgeoning community, but rest assured if more is required we’ll be ready & waiting.

We want to thank all of you for your amazing patience & support through these first few crazy days. The success has been fantastic but it’s most important to us that all of you have a comfortable & fun experience when you want to play!

It’s an exciting time here at Trion – thanks for being a HUGE part of it!

They are also going to be splitting up the EU region into two clusters – but those details are yet to be finalized – the only info we have from Daglar at the moment:

Our tentative EU plan is as follows:

Cluster 1
English Shards
Bring up Shards as required.

Cluster 2
French and German shards
Bring up Shards as required.

I know this won’t be popular with some folks, but this current planned setup that allows us to most quickly scale servers and population caps.

Hopefully this works out and we don’t see a massive drop off of F2P players which will cause some of the shards to go ghost town and force Trion to rever the changes they made. At the very least they’re acting extremely quickly. I imagine creating a separate cluster and splitting the servers up is not easy feat – and they’re acting very fast.

they are breaking up Laethys and Deepwood, well. that’s going to fuck some people over…

Please answer the questions on … cross clusters change that’s just happened please – can we XFER accross the clusters? There has been absolutely NO WARNING about this. I have bank alts split accross the two clusters !

      yep you can

I for one am on Deepwood, but during the NA sleep times, I often play with the peops on Laethys (being from Australia and all), and if they they are going to break these up, and we wont be able to anchor to them, that is going to piss some people off, that’s for sure! I may have to put an alt over there permanently if it goes that way.

It’s already gone that way.. the clusters are created and the servers are split and coming back up within the hour..

        • Wilhelmus

So we wont be able to connect with Laethys from Deepwood?
